Linux Stand-Alone using the onboard VIA686B IDE controller with DMA turned off
On a Linux only system using the VIA686B IDE controller with DMA turned off (using 'ide=nodma' on the bootargs parameter), the following initialisation processes occur before control is passed to the Linux Kernel:
