AmigaOne - SLB - Upgrading SLB
|
Periodically it may be necessary to upgrade the SLB as a result of U-Boot, AmigaOS or other software upgrades. This step will
typically be requested within the installation/setup instructions but it won't tell you how to do it. It will probably
just say that it needs to be done first.
The SLB image is stored in the SYS:L drawer and may be called "slb_v2." but it could be called anything, such as "slb.v2", "slb.v2_11", "slb.v2_nolinux", "slb.v2_nosfs", or whatever. Amiga Auckland change the name to "slb.v2.x.y" where x and y correspond to the version numbers specified in the release notes that are supplied with the slb distribution. Once it has been saved to the SYS:L drawer you are ready to update the system with it. For this you must use Media Toolbox which you will find in the SYS:Tools drawer, as shown below:
You will now be back at the previous screen, and the name of the file just selected should appear in the box on the right-hand side of the screen labelled "Installed AmigaOne booter:", even though it hasn't quite happened yet.
Congratulations, you have successfully updated the SLB.
