The U-Boot Menu system is easier to use than the console mode. It allows you to define settings, display information about your system, which disk you want to boot from, etc.
U-Boot Menu Usage
The following usage information applies to all U-Boot Boot Menus.
- The parameter to be modified (or selected) is highlighted by a green bar.
- To move to the value you want to modify (or select), use the up/down arrow keys.
- Press <Enter> to change (or select) it. In case of a changeable setting, you'll then be able to select a different value in a drop down menu, or to enter some text to modify a text based setting.
- Everywhere in the menus, <Enter> is to select/modify and <Esc> is used to quit/cancel.
The boot selection menu can be used to temporarily change the boot device, boot configuration and boot arguments that you want to boot AmigaOS or Linux with, and is invoked by pressing <Enter> while the U-Boot Menudelay panel is in countdown mode. If you want to make permanent changes you should press <Esc> and go to the U-Boot Preferences Menu instead.
On entry, the first parameter "Boot Device" will automatically be selected. If you press <Enter> a drop-down menu will appear as follows:

- Editing the Configuration
The second parameter "Configuration" is used to specify the configuration that should be booted.

The third parameter "Boot Arguments for AmigaOS" is used to specify any arguments that should be
passed during the boot process for AmigaOS4.

The fourth parameter "Boot Arguments for Linux" is used to specify any arguments that should be
passed during the boot process for Linux.

- Exit Options
To exit from the U-Boot Boot Selection Menu simply press <Esc>. This will result in a small
popup window appearing from where you can select how you want to exit, and what you want to
happen next.
- Boot this configuration can be used to temporarily boot using the modified configuration without saving. The next boot will revert to the previously saved values.
- Go to preferences menu can be used to abort any changes that you have made and invoke the U-Boot Preferences Menu.
- Continue normal boot can be used to abort any changes that you have made and boot using the saved configuration.
If you specify an inconsistent value, U-Boot will stop and display an error message.
