The Amiga 500 Plus was introduced in October 1991 to replace the A500. It continued to use the Motorola 68000 processor running at 7.14MHz clock speed, came with a 1 Megabyte of Random Access Memory (RAM), upgradeable with an under-keyboard cartridge to 2 Megabyte of RAM, plus the latest Enhanced Custom Chipset (ECS). The A500 had two expansion slots, one underneath principally designed for memory expansion, and one on the side for a hard disk. This machine probably had the shortest sales life of any Amiga as the cost of manufacture was making it an expensive computer, compared to it rivals and was soon replaced by the A600.
