Navigating the Amiga Auckland Web Site

This web site has been established as a communication and information site for members of Amiga Auckland and as a starting point for non-members to learn more about our club. At this time there are approximately 250 pages, many containing graphic images. One of the primary design considerations was to make navigation quick and easy, so that time is not wasted waiting for unnecessary graphics etc to download, and where users with dial-up connections have graphics switched off to make it just as easy to navigate around. For these reasons a navigation bar (or set of bars) is positioned at the top of each page, and these follow a consistent standard throughout the website.
The primary bar (shown below) has one button (coloured yellow) which returns to the Home Page, while the other buttons (coloured teal) provide links to the six major parts of the website.

Please note: The navigation bar shown above is for illustration purposes only and does not work.

When a link has been selected, the colour of the button will change to a bright red to confirm where you are, for example, if you double-click on the "The Club" button above the next page shown would show the button in red as follows:

From the "Club" page it is possible to select any of six areas related to Amiga Auckland, so an additional six buttons will also be displayed (coloured pink) as follows:

Officers History Meetings Forums AMSMAG PD Library Purchasing

Selecting one of these buttons will change its colour to red and the button corresponding to the part of the web being accessed will turn to pink instead, for example:

Officers History Meetings Forums AMSMAG PD Library Purchasing

Please note: The navigation bar shown above is for illustration purposes only and does not work.

If the selected section has further pages within it, another navigation bar would also be displayed, for example:

Officers History Meetings Forums AMSMAG PD Library Purchasing
NZCUG Amiga NZ Amiga Auckland

Please note: The navigation bar shown above is for illustration purposes only and does not work.

Selecting one of these button will again change it to red and the section button will change to a darker shade of red, and so on depending on the number of levels, for example:

Where the page is a dead-end, i.e. a graphic or some such that leads nowhere and was selected from the page rather than using the navigation bar, the recommended button to return to where you came from will be coloured green, for example:

That is about all there is that you need to know, so good luck with your browsing. We hope you enjoy our site. From here you can either select the BACK button on your browser, click on the button at the top of the screen, or simply click here.
